Much thanks from anyone taking time out of their day to take a quick look at our website. Whether you are a rushing high school senior, an inquisitive parent or a wizened alumnus, we always appreciate an occasional visit, so feel free to stop by any time!

The Gamma Epsilon chapter of Beta Theta Pi has so much to offer to young men looking for a place to spend their time in college. Beta breeds well-rounded, hard-working men by creating an environment of brotherhood and community. Everything that we do is anchored in our ability to push each other and help one another succeed. With this mindset, we were proud to receive recognition via another Knox Award and Sisson Award last year, bringing our respective totals to 8 and 23. These are the two most prestigious awards that a chapter of Beta Theta Pi can be given.

Beta’s mission is to develop men of principle for a principled life. We try to excel in everything that we do academically, athletically, philanthropically, and socially. Our average GPA consistently places in the top quartile of fraternities, and last semester’s was a 3.2. We also won our 7th intramural championship in a row, and we are well on our way to our 8th this year with a 200-point margin between us and the second place team. We also hosted two philanthropies, both of which raised several thousand dollars for the Flint Hills Bread Basket. One of these was new to our chapter—Beta Lei. Along with working hard comes playing hard. Every year we host multiple themed date parties along with our formal—Beta Pig—when we go to Tablerock or the Lake of the Ozarks for a weekend on the water and a formal dance and dinner.

So if you would like to come by and visit a great group of men that can offer structure, fun, and brotherhood, come by 500 Sunset any time you like. We would be happy to show you around and talk about what you are looking for.

See you soon,

Greetings from 500 Sunset!

Thank you for taking the time to check out our website, whether you are an alumni, potential K-State Student, or parent, welcome! I am so excited and proud to represent our 97 chapter members as we begin this new fall semester. Our 24 new members have already made a huge impact around the house and all hold great potential. From late night basketball on our full court with lights, to our Wednesday dress dinners, to freshmen study hours, to game day, our house never sleeps. There is always something going on and this fall has underscored that point.

Our house has just hosted a philanthropy event with college hip-hop artist Sammy Adams and is looking forward to our annual Beta Boo Haunted House on October 22nd. We donate all of the proceeds to the Flint Hills Breadbasket. Our house mother is entering her 21st year as a Beta housemother! She has been a housemother longer than I have been alive! If you stop by our house there is no way you will enter without experiencing her genuine hospitality. Our quest for our 7th intramural title in a row is underway with our football and soccer teams off to a great start! The house has been alive with activity. There is always a maintenance man or food delivery truck or visitor wandering through our halls and good friends fill every corner. With the K-state football team off to a great start and the weather starting to turn, I cannot ask for a better fall! Please come stop by anytime and be a part of this experience. It is truly a great place to be!

Hope to see you soon,

Greetings,

My name is Tom Chaffee and I am the president of the Gamma Epsilon chapter of Beta Theta Pi. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to check out our website. We truly have something special here in Manhattan and we would love to share it with you. Whether you are a parent, alumni, prospective member, or friend, you are welcome to stop by our beautiful house on Sunset Avenue!

There has been a question of fraternal relevance floating around college campuses. What is the point of fraternities? Are they relevant? Do they accomplish anything worthwhile? Why do we still have fraternities? We are committed to changing the image of fraternities, starting here in Manhattan. We truly strive to recruit good men and make them better. If someone comes through our house unchanged, then we have failed. My experience here in this house has changed my life for the better. Having a community of brothers challenging me and holding me accountable has helped me push myself. The focus on grades, the focus on responsibility, the focus on friendship.

My dad always told me that college is the best time of your life. But it has also been the toughest transition of my life. You only get a few years to grow up, to become a man. You have to seize every opportunity you have. When I leave this house, I will know how to act responsibly, I will know how to live with people different than me, and I will be prepared for the next phase of my life.“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us”
